TASC Art Handling Apprenticeship Update

TASC’s Art Handler Apprenticeship program is well underway.

A group of six people are sitting around a work station learning about framing and hanging art. The table has drills, an open tool box, a hammer, and other miscellaneous hardware. There are three paintings to demonstrate methods of hanging art.

Our candidates are learning the necessary skills and gaining intel on how to be art handlers working within the art world. Take a look at these photos at the start of our program, taken by Marina Balko from Radiant Hall.

For the past month, we’ve been working on our Art Handler Apprenticeship along with Brew House Associations and Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. August was the first month of this six-month-long apprenticeship, and things are off to a great start. We’re looking forward to seeing how our participants sharpen their art handling skills as the rest of this program rolls along!
