Share your vision for artwork in Larimer!

The Art Supply Co. and Steel City Squash have teamed up for a newly created piece of public art on exterior walls at the entrance of 624 Larimer Avenue, also known as the Steel City Squash Larimer Education and Squash Center.

A workshop was held on January 11, 2024 to meet the 3 finalists in the public call for artists, learn about their past creative projects, and give inspiration to the finalists as they begin their design proposals for a chance to create the final commissioned artwork.

The 3 final artists were chosen from an open call including Alecia Dawn Young, Industrial Arts Workshop, and PBJ Customs. These talented artists created design proposals with community input and a Alecia Dawn Young was selected to move forward with the final piece, titled “Rooted Momentum.”

Larimer community members are invited to participate in a Tile Workshop for Wellness on June 23, 2024. Come connect, play in clay, and make individual ceramic tiles for the current Rooted Momentum public art project. The goal of this workshop is for guests to engage in creative wellness that might foster moments of self care, learn more about the project, and share individual stories from the Larimer community. Completed tiles will be installed in the ceramic mixed media mural. No prior experience necessary - just bring yourself and your joy practice!
