Alecia Dawn Young proposes a mixed media ceramic and acrylic mural titled Rooted Momentum.

The tile mural will cover the wave design and include the larger framed circles. These 3-foot circles would reflect designs inspired by the community and focus on the broad themes of Community, Nature, Landscape, and Industry. Tiles are bright and hand-carved with linear designs embellished with imagery of nature, industry, and local culture.

A community tile-making workshop for wellness invites local community members to play with the clay material and make individual tiles to take home. The goal of this workshop is to engage in creative wellness that might foster moments of self-care, invite community members to learn more about the project and listen to individual stories from Lincoln-Larimer residents. Each tile will be fired and returned to the resident as an individual artifact of the experience.
